{"id":1726,"date":"2024-09-19T12:29:55","date_gmt":"2024-09-19T16:29:55","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cookbook.maynardfolks.com\/?p=1726"},"modified":"2024-09-19T12:29:55","modified_gmt":"2024-09-19T16:29:55","slug":"crockpot-chicken-and-dumplings","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cookbook.maynardfolks.com\/?p=1726","title":{"rendered":"Crockpot Chicken and Dumplings"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><u>Ingredients<\/u>:<\/b><br \/>\n1 large onion diced<br \/>\n10.5 ounces condensed cream of celery soup 1 can<br \/>\n10.5 ounces condensed cream of chicken soup 1 can<br \/>\n1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley<br \/>\n1 teaspoon poultry seasoning<br \/>\nblack pepper to taste<br \/>\n4 boneless skinless chicken breasts<br \/>\n2 cups reduced sodium chicken broth<br \/>\n2 cups frozen vegetables or peas and carrots, thawed<br \/>\n16.3 oz refrigerated biscuits 1 can, Buttermilk, Country, or Homestyle<\/p>\n<p><b><u>Directions<\/u>:<\/b><br \/>\nAdd onion to 6 qt crock pot and top with chicken breasts.<br \/>\nIn a small bowl, combine cream of celery soup, cream of chicken soup, parsley, poultry seasoning and pepper. Spread over chicken breasts. Top with chicken broth and cook on high 5 hours.<br \/>\nApproximately 1 hour (I allow 60 &#8211; 90 minutes) before serving (after 4 hours of cooking time), roll each biscuit thin and flat. Cut into 4 strips. Add vegetables to the slow cooker and stir. Add biscuit strips on top. Replace lid as quickly as possible.<br \/>\n<b>To Serve<\/b>:<br \/>\nRemove chicken breasts and slightly shred. Add back into slow cooker and stir (this will break up the dumplings somewhat which is ok).
