{"id":1738,"date":"2024-09-19T12:36:47","date_gmt":"2024-09-19T16:36:47","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cookbook.maynardfolks.com\/?p=1738"},"modified":"2024-09-19T12:36:47","modified_gmt":"2024-09-19T16:36:47","slug":"ham-and-corn-chowder","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cookbook.maynardfolks.com\/?p=1738","title":{"rendered":"Ham and Corn Chowder"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><b><u>Ingredients<\/u>:<\/b><br \/>\n3 slices bacon diced<br \/>\n\u00bd large onion diced<br \/>\n1 \u00bd cups diced potatoes peeled<br \/>\n\u00bd red bell pepper diced<br \/>\n1 teaspoon dried thyme leaves<br \/>\nblack pepper to taste<br \/>\n2 cups chicken broth<br \/>\n3 cups corn fresh or frozen<br \/>\n1 \u00bd cups diced ham<br \/>\n2 tablespoons all-purpose flour<br \/>\n1 \u00bd cups milk or use 1\/2 cream<\/p>\n<p><b><u>Directions<\/u>:<\/b><br \/>\nAdd bacon and onion to a pot over medium high heat. Cook until onion is translucent. Add potato, red pepper, thyme, pepper and chicken broth. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and let simmer 8 minutes.<br \/>\nAdd corn and ham. Simmer an additional 7 minutes or until potatoes are cooked through.<br \/>\nStir together milk and flour. Add into ham mixture and bring to a boil while stirring.
