{"id":416,"date":"2016-06-28T11:53:32","date_gmt":"2016-06-28T15:53:32","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/cookbook.maynardfolks.com\/?p=416"},"modified":"2017-08-05T12:45:13","modified_gmt":"2017-08-05T16:45:13","slug":"killer-ziti","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/cookbook.maynardfolks.com\/?p=416","title":{"rendered":"Killer Ziti"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/cookbook.maynardfolks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/SouthernPlate-Killer-Ziti-800x533.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/cookbook.maynardfolks.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/06\/SouthernPlate-Killer-Ziti-800x533-150x150.jpg\" alt=\"SouthernPlate-Killer-Ziti-800x533\" width=\"150\" height=\"150\" class=\"alignnone size-thumbnail wp-image-417\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><b><u>Ingredients<\/u>:<\/b><br \/>\n16 ounce box Ziti noodles<br \/>\n\u00bd package pepperoni (about 1 cup)<br \/>\n1 pound italian sausage, casings removed<br \/>\n1 medium onion, chopped<br \/>\n1 tablespoon minced garlic<br \/>\n14 ounce jar pizza sauce<br \/>\n45 ounce jar spaghetti sauce of your choice<br \/>\n3 cups mozzarella<\/p>\n<p><b><u>Directions<\/u>:<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Cook ziti according to package directions, cutting cooking time in half. Once half cooked, drain in a colander and pour cold water over to stop the cooking process. Set aside and allow to drain fully.<\/p>\n<p>In large skillet, place sausage, onion, and garlic. Chop and stir often over medium heat until fully browned and no longer pink in the center. Remove to a large bowl. (If there is grease, drain).<\/p>\n<p>Coarsely chop pepperoni and add to sausage. Add entire jar of pizza sauce and \u00bd of the spaghetti sauce along with partially cooked noodles. Stir until mixture is well combined.<\/p>\n<p>Spread half of remaining spaghetti sauce in bottom of 3.5 or 4 quart dish (9&#215;13 works well). Top this with \u00bd of pasta mixture. Sprinkle half of cheese on top.
