Ingredients:
1 1/2 c uncooked sushi rice
2c water
2 tsp toasted black sesame seeds
2 tsp sesame oil
Soy Glaze:
1/4 c soy sauce
2 Tbsp mirin
1 tsp sugar
Directions:
1. Cook the sushi rice in a rice cooker, then while warm season with seasoning ingredients (sesame seeds and oil).
2. Make the onigiri triangle shapes with a mold
2.5. (Optional) – Add your favorite filling into the center at this step
3. Mix together the soy sauce, sugar, and mirin to make the glaze
4. Lightly oil a skillet and over medium heat, sear each side of every onigiri until golden brown.
5. Working quickly brush each onigiri with the soy glaze and flip to caramelize the glaze for 10 seconds on each side.
